Problem standards: tagging and grades by standard

MAP lets teachers tag problems with classification standards (for example state or course labels) and then find every problem in a course that shares a standard. This is separate from auto-grading—it is how you organize and inspect coverage.

Assign a Standard

Open a problem in the workspace. Under Assign a Standard, type a name. After a short pause, matching standards already used in active or closed courses appear so you can pick one, or keep typing to create a new label. Names are stored trimmed and lowercase so Algebra.A.1 and algebra.a.1 are the same catalog entry.

Grades by standard

On a course’s Grades page, the Problem Standards section lists standards that appear on problems in that course. Choose a standard and open See problems in course with selected standard.

The standard view groups problems into those where students have already taken an assessment that includes the problem, and those that have not yet seen student activity—so you can jump into grading or open the problem.

Why state and time zone matter

IT may filter teacher audiences by last-login state or time zone when sending operational notices about standards or template updates. Teachers can confirm or lock those values in Account Settings—see Account Settings: profile, location, and purchases.

FAQ

Do students see standards?

Standards are teacher/authoring and grades tools. Students take assessments as usual; they do not get a separate standards browser.

Can one problem have several standards?

Each assignment uses the shared catalog; attach the standard(s) your curriculum needs from the problem workspace.
